With a bright and clear appearance, a moderate amount of bittering hops makes for a hoppy lager complemented by a surprisingly sweet finish. Schlafwagen is a very inviting and approachable beer; perfect for hot Houston summer days.
Like all of our beer names – Schlafwagen is named after something related to trains. We celebrate the fact that our brewery is nestled between two busy railways in central Houston. Schlafwagen is German for Sleeper Car. But this beer will not make you snooze – nor will the conductors as they blow their horns as they rumble on by our beer garden!
